But, Leader Standard Work is dependent on a few things. In what follows, I&#8217;ll cover a few of those items and provide an example of Leader Standard Work. When there, look for:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Production tracking charts, operator daily maintenance boards, 5-S daily task boards, between-process control boards, equipment calibration signoffs, etc.<\/li>\n<li>Visuals show expected versus actual<\/li>\n<li>Leader&#8217;s job at the visual:\n<ul>\n<li>Verify tracking or execution<\/li>\n<li>Ensure misses\/fallouts\u009d are clearly documented<\/li>\n<li>Ensure appropriate response to variances<\/li>\n<li>Visuals convert energy\u009d of leader std work into process focus &#8211;structured, documented<\/li>\n<li>Expected versus actual, reasons for variation<\/li>\n<li>Expected versus actual, executed or not<\/li>\n<li>Skipped, late, partial<\/li>\n<li>Documented process data gives traction\u009d leaders can use to drive improvement<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Daily Accountability<\/h2>\n<p>A daily accountability process:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Leader scrutinizes visuals&#8217; data daily Determines what steps to take by whom<\/li>\n<li>Assigns resources, sets due dates<\/li>\n<li>Follows up\n<ul>\n<li>Daily, tiered stand-up meetings<\/li>\n<li>Brief, on the floor<\/li>\n<li>Visual accountability<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Looking at the above and the relationship between Leader Standard Work, Visual Controls, and Daily Accountability, shows a clear difference between what is known as &#8220;Management by Walking Around&#8221; versus &#8220;Gemba Walk&#8221;.
