During his time there, he wrote his thoughts in a journal, which he has since published as a Kindle Book.<\/p>\n<p>When you buy and read his journal, you&#8217;ll be able to read Russell&#8217;s thoughts and how he applied the principles of Lean Manufacturing to specific tasks in the rebuilding of Haiti. All money will be donated to the Friends of the Orphans (friendsoftheorphans.org).<\/p>\n<p>You can buy and read Russell&#8217;s Haiti experience here:<\/p>\n<h2><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-8148 aligncenter\" title=\"lean-haiti\" alt=\"lean for haiti\" src=\"https:\/\/staging.opexlearning.com\/resources\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/lean-haiti.png\" width=\"125\" height=\"125\" srcset=\"https:\/\/staging.opexlearning.com\/resources\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/lean-haiti.png 125w, https:\/\/staging.opexlearning.com\/resources\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/lean-haiti-100x100.png 100w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 125px) 100vw, 125px\" \/><\/h2>\n<h2>Lean Manufacturing: Practical Application of A3 Problem Solving<\/h2>\n<p>While in Haiti, Russell volunteered at a Haitian Field Hospital and because of the tremendous need, he ventured to solve the following two problems:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>How can we increase <a title=\"quick changeover\" href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/dp\/B000EYK0Q6\/ref=asc_df_B000EYK0Q61399977\/?creative=394997&amp;creativeASIN=B000EYK0Q6&amp;linkCode=asn?tag=sixsigma09-20\">patient turnover<\/a>?<\/li>\n<li>How can we increase film quality in radiology?<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>In his words,<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Background: The field hospital had an inefficient radiology department that was producing suboptimal films. The mass of patients requiring quality x-rays was more than the current process could\u00a0accommodate.
