It was first practiced in Japanese businesses after the Second World War, influenced in part by American business and quality management teachers, and most notably as part of the Toyota Way. It has since spread throughout the world<span size=\"2\" style=\"font-size: small;\">\u00a0<\/span>and has been applied to environments outside business and productivity.<\/p>\n<p>Now, take those simple processes from the factory floor to the home front and you might just find some success.
