It\u00a0is a new way of thinking about any activity and seeing the waste inadvertently generated by the way the process is organized.<\/p>\n<p>John Shook is widely recognized as a lean expert. He\u00a0learned about Lean management while working for Toyota for nearly 11 years in Japan and the U.S., helping it transfer production, engineering, and management systems from Japan to NUMMI and subsequently to other operations around the world.
