6 Reasons To Switch To Online Training

You are here: Home / General / 6 Reasons To Switch To Online Training

Posted on April 24, 2017 • Leave a Comment

These days, everyone wants to advance their career. It could be that they want to get a promotion, start a new career altogether or become more productive at work. No matter the reason, the need for training becomes apparent, and you can find yourself wondering if online training is the best way to impart new knowledge and skills to your learners or workforce?

If you are thinking about switching to online training, here are six reasons why that is a wise decision.

1. Allows Course completion at oneโ€™s own pace

Time flexibility is something that not a lot of adults have due to work and family. This makes earning a certification to advance their career difficult due to time constraints. They simply can not fit a rigid class schedule into their already busy work and personal lives. With online training, learners can study at their own pace since courses can be accessed at any time. In other words, busy adults decide when they will complete the training.

2. Provides hands-on training

Online training goes beyond theory to give employees ways of applying the skills they have learned in their workplace. By applying what they know in a number of practical scenarios during the online training segments, they reinforce their new skill set. For instance, a web programmer can be given a backend with bugs to fix, forcing them to use debugging tools and problems solving skills to get the website up and running again.

3. Anyone can get certified

Online training can be accessed from anywhere in the world, meaning anyone can get a certificate from well-recognized institutions. It doesnโ€™t matter if one lives in rural Uganda or New York City, as long as there is an internet connection, they can get the certification they need for career advancement.

4. Caters to different training needs

Not everyone has the same learning capabilities. While traditional classroom settings can work for others, some people learn better online. This is especially true for the younger generation, who have a need for a more engaging and gratifying way to learn meaningful skills.

5. Gamification increases engagement

Online training has something that traditional training materials donโ€™t: gamification. Through gamification, you can enhance the learning experience by increasing learner engagement levels. Gamification allows you to incentivize learning by infusing course materials with game mechanics, such as leveling up and reward systems. This way, learners can see how they are advancing in the training, encouraging them to work harder to achieve more.

6. Increases Revenue

If you are an institution that makes its revenue by providing training to organizations and individuals then you can increase your revenue through online training. Since thereโ€™s no need for trainees to travel or provide physical training materials, you can drastically reduce the costs of training provision, allowing you to enjoy more of the revenue earned. Furthermore, with no physical space limitations, you can take on an unlimited number of learners, which means more revenue for you.

If you are thinking of changing to online training but have reservations, the above-mentioned reasons can make a compelling case to switch. As you can see, online training provides a number of benefits for individuals and organizations or institutions. It is something worth serious consideration.
